Sexy Stocking Stuffer: Icelandic Sea Salt
A sprinkle of high-quality sea salt makes everything taste better. It's a luxury item for serious home cooks, especially when it comes gorgeously packaged, imported from Iceland, and infused with rhubarb, blueberry, licorice, or birch smoke. We're not surprised to hear that these pretty little boxes are flying off the shelves at IU Tripp!
Wild Icelandic rhubarb lends its bright pink color and a slightly sour flavor to the salt pictured above. The rhubarb salt flakes pair well with seafood, pork, and roasted vegetables, and they can add depth to sweet desserts. (Sea salt is the secret ingredient in my dark chocolate cookies, adding a great little crunch and another layer to the sweet, chocolatey flavor.)
The Nordur Salts come in 4 flavors and are priced at $15 per long-lasting, 250-gram box. The shop is also stocking multi-hued Icelandic Birki Salt, pictured below, for $12.50 per box.
This would be so pretty in a salt dish, right? You can also pick up a beautiful antique dish, canister, or cup for the salt, too, while you're browsing through IU Tripp.
