Small-Batch Root Beer Syrup for the Cook Who Has Everything

Small-Batch Root Beer Syrup for the Cook Who Has Everything

During his tenure at the Bee's Knee's Cafe at Heather Ridge Farm, our favorite local chef, Rob Handel, created this delicious elixir, rich with with fifteen different roots, barks, herbs and spices. This "Patent" Root Beer Syrup is ready to mix with seltzer, stir into cocktails, spoon over ice cream, glaze roasted meat, or add depth to soups and stews. It's a rare find and makes the perfect gift for a food and drink enthusiast who really doesn't need another unnecessary kitchen gadget.

As of December 2017, Rob will be working at Fin, a seafood market serving chef-prepared foods in Guilderland, NY (and we can't wait to visit!), but his small-batch Root Beer Syrup is still available at Heather Ridge Farm, where you can also order it online by the case ($44 for 4 16-oz. bottles). If you're in town, you can also pick up a bottle at IU Tripp ($10 each).
